This win is 100% Pinot Noir with the grapes coming from our 23 year old Smith’s Block vineyard. They have produced an outstanding Pinot Noir of a style rarely produced in Coonawarra. This wine was hand plunged during open fermentation before aging in French Oak. Drink now, with the potential for cellaring, will soften with age.
The colour is a deep cherry red and on the palate, expect a classic Burgundian style Pinot Noir with complimentary smokey, bacon characteristics with a hint of cherry.
A well structured wine with a lingering finish. Food Matches include light red meats, antipasto and poultry such as duck and pheasant.
